Terms & Conditions

Last updated: May 2026  ·  Governing law: Switzerland (Pauschalreisegesetz)
These Terms & Conditions govern all travel bookings made through Alpina Travels and are subject to the Swiss Federal Act on Package Travel (Bundesgesetz über Pauschalreisen, SR 944.3) and the Swiss Code of Obligations. Please read them carefully before booking. By completing a booking you agree to these terms.

1. Service Provider

Alpina Travels is the trading name of the Swiss sole proprietorship "ALPINA TRAVELS, PAU GALLARDO CAMPOS" (Einzelunternehmen), registered with the Handelsregisteramt des Kantons Zürich under UID CHE-165.649.761 on 15 April 2026. The business is operated by Pau Gallardo Campos as sole owner.

Alpina Travels is an active member of the Swiss Travel Association (STAR), agency number 302935.

Registered seat: c/o Pau Gallardo Campos, Hagenholzstrasse 62, 8050 Zürich, Switzerland. Email: hello@alpinatravels.com. Full legal details: alpinatravels.com/legal.

2. Booking and Contract

A binding contract is formed when you complete the online booking process and payment is confirmed. You will receive a booking confirmation email with your reference number within 24 hours.

Bookings can be made by any person aged 18 or over. The person making the booking accepts these terms on behalf of all travellers in the group.

3. Pricing

All prices are contracted in Swiss Francs (CHF). The website may display the same price in EUR, USD or GBP for convenience using daily reference exchange rates, but the contractual amount and final charge are always in CHF. Prices are per group total as displayed at the time of booking and include the services listed under "What's included" for each trip. Flights, travel insurance, visas and personal expenses are not included unless explicitly stated.

Price revision after booking. In accordance with the Pauschalreisegesetz, the contracted price may be increased only on the basis of fuel or transport-cost variations, taxes or fees levied by third parties (e.g. tourist taxes, port charges), or significant exchange-rate movements. Any such increase will be communicated to you in writing no later than 20 days before departure with full justification. If the increase exceeds 10% of the total price, you may withdraw from the contract free of charge within 7 days of receiving notice.

4. Payment

A CHF 500 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance is due 60 days before your departure date. We will send you a payment link for the balance. Payments are processed securely by Stripe (card). No card data is stored by Alpina Travels.

5. Insolvency Protection

Article 18 of the Swiss Pauschalreisegesetz requires Swiss travel organisers to protect customer payments against insolvency through a recognised customer-money security fund. Where active, the fund refunds payments already made and, where applicable, repatriates travellers already abroad.

Alpina Travels is currently completing admission to Swiss Travel Security (STS) — the independent customer-money security foundation established by the Swiss Travel Association (STAR). Decision expected mid-2026. Until STS membership is active, advance payments are not accepted and reservations are held without payment obligation. Once activated, every booking confirmation will include a personal Sicherungsschein naming the lead traveller, trip and amount; claims may then be addressed directly to STS at swisstravelsecurity.ch.

6. Transfer of Booking

In accordance with Article 17 of the Pauschalreisegesetz, you may transfer your booking to another person who satisfies all conditions applicable to the trip, provided you give Alpina Travels reasonable written notice (at least 7 days before departure) and pay any additional cost arising directly from the transfer (e.g. supplier name-change fees). The original and replacement traveller are jointly liable for the trip price and any such transfer cost.

7. Cancellation by You

You may cancel your booking by emailing hello@alpinatravels.com. The cancellation date is the date we receive your written notice. The following charges apply:

Where a partial refund applies, it will be processed within 14 days to the original payment method. Full cancellation policy at alpinatravels.com/cancellation.

Swiss package travel law does not provide a statutory cooling-off period or right of withdrawal; the cancellation charges above apply from the moment your deposit is paid.

8. Cancellation by Alpina Travels

In the unlikely event that a trip must be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control (force majeure, supplier failure, safety concerns), we will offer a full refund of all amounts paid within 14 days, or alternative dates at no additional charge. We are not liable for additional costs such as flights or visas. Where the cancellation is caused by our insolvency, refunds are guaranteed by the STS fund as set out in section 5.

9. Amendments

Requests to change travel dates, group size or other trip details are subject to availability and an amendment fee of CHF 150 per change. Amendments must be requested at least 30 days before departure. Date changes within 60 days of departure are treated as cancellations under section 7.

10. Travel Insurance

We consider comprehensive travel insurance essential for every traveller and recommend purchasing it at the time of booking, before any reason to cancel could arise. The policy should cover trip cancellation and curtailment, medical expenses and emergency evacuation, repatriation, personal liability, and lost or delayed baggage. Pre-existing medical conditions must be declared when the policy is purchased. Alpina Travels is not an insurer and accepts no liability for losses arising from inadequate or absent cover.

11. Our Responsibility

Alpina Travels acts as a travel organiser within the meaning of the Pauschalreisegesetz. We work with third-party accommodation, transport and activity providers. While we select partners carefully, we cannot be held liable for the acts or omissions of third-party suppliers, unforeseen events, or circumstances outside our control.

Our total liability to you in respect of any booking shall not exceed the total price paid for that booking, except where Swiss mandatory law (in particular for personal injury or wilful misconduct) provides otherwise.

Claims arising from this contract must be brought within two years of the agreed end of travel, in accordance with Article 19 of the Pauschalreisegesetz.

12. Complaints

If you have a complaint, please contact us at hello@alpinatravels.com without undue delay so we have the opportunity to resolve the matter. We will acknowledge receipt within 5 business days and aim to resolve all complaints fairly.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Swiss law, in particular the Swiss Federal Act on Package Travel (Bundesgesetz über Pauschalreisen, SR 944.3) and the Swiss Code of Obligations. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zürich, Switzerland.
